Sweet Summertime: Part III

Here are some exciting activities for kids around the metro area this summer! As always, a big thank you to Deahna Visscher who graciously created this list and shared it for the benefit of the community! Please email me if you are interested in receiving a full copy of the list!

Englewood- KIDSTAGE: Tuesday Evenings • 6:30 pm: July 9 to August 6

City Center Englewood Amphitheater : 1000 Englewood Parkway
(at the base of the Englewood Light Rail Station bridge, next to Englewood Civic Center)
Bring your lawn chairs and picnics and head to the CityCenter Englewood Amphitheater for these free performances!

July 9 - Jackman Brothers - A family comedy show w/ juggling, acrobatics, and mayhem
July 16 - Millibo Art Theatre presents "Book Dawg"  - A high-energy musical play that follows the antics of a stray dog and cat who escape from the pound and find a new home in a library
July 23 - Denver Taiko Drum Group - Exhilarating Japanese drumming
July 30 - Now or Never Puppet Theater - Performing "Charlotte's Web"
August 6 - Kalama Polynesian Dancers  - A dance show of fire, hula, drums, Plus a Hawaiian craft to get you into the mood

If you've got kids, you'll want to make sure that you get signed up!  Your kids can bowl 2 free games EVERY DAY this summer!  This is a great family activity!
Click here to find a participating location in your area and get your kids registered.  Once you are registered for the program, you will receive an e-mail each Sunday with coupons for free bowling during the upcoming week.  For just $24.95, you can also purchase a Family Pass, which allows four adult family members (or older kids who don't fit within the age requirements) to bowl two games every day for the summer, too!  You can't beat that price!

Kids and parents are delighted by this exciting fun and educational series! Featured entertainers specialize in puppetry, music, dance, storytelling, animals, and science.  Partner organizations include the Museum of Nature and Science and The Children's Museum. Funtaztikidz is FREE of charge, but donations of $2 per child are appreciated to support arts programming in Thornton.

Africa Explorers - presented by the Museum of Nature and Science
Recommended for ages 3-7. Space is limited, registration required. Jambo! Take a journey with the Museum of Nature and Science to the largest, most diverse continent on Earth. Discover the regions of Africa and explore their diversity using hands-on activities and Museum specimens.

Tuesday, July 23, Two sessions offered from 1-2 p.m. and 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Life Without a Backbone - presented by The Traveling Sea
Recommended for ages 3-7. Space is limited, registration required. The Investigating Invertebrates program will provide a first-hand look (and touch) at marine invertebrates to learn the various ways of invertebrate movement, protection, and body shapes.

Thursday, Aug. 1, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Recommended for ages 3-7.
The Gingerbread Man - presented by The Children’s Museum of Denver
The Children’s Museum of Denver presents this interactive theater. Children will bring nursery rhymes and fairytales to life as they act out the adventures of this mischievous little cookie.

Thursday, August 8, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; All ages.
Integrated Rhythms - with Kelly Russel
Professional dancer, Kelly Russel, will lead you and your family through a creative and fun afternoon of music, dancing, and laughing for all!
